Hey, Slashic Fanatics!
Long time no speak! We apologise that it’s been a while since our last update, however it’s been a busy couple of months. The good news is that we have a lot to share with you!
First off, we want to thank you for the love and support you shared for David-Jack and his BPD diagnosis in the last newsletter. Spreading awareness and opening up like that is always a scary thing, and the amount of kind words we received really was heartwarming and greatly appreciated.
So while we have a lot to share with you, we are also very near the end of the year (scary, we know!). We have one more title set for release (more on that below) and then that’s our schedule done for 2024! But fear not, we have a super exciting roster of titles on the way in 2025 (again, more on that below…).
We will be having an end of year meeting soon to discuss what 2025 is going to look like for the press and our authors. We are excited to get underway with that, but we don’t want to wish the year away just yet! After all, Halloween is coming up and that means Spooky Season is well underway. Lee already has a few scare maze events planned out, plus he’s excited for the release of both Terrifier 3 and the Terrifier 2 Novelisation.
We hope you enjoy this edition of the Newsletter, we’ll catch up next month!

We are so excited to announce that we will be publishing Waste Ground by Marc Ruvolo in March 2025!
Marc describes Waste Ground as, “A cosmic horror novella in which three strangers stumble upon the plans of depraved cultists with possible world-ending consequences.”
Marc Ruvolo (he/him) is a queer writer and musician living in Portland, Oregon who once considered himself a punk. He founded the seminal Bucket O’ Blood book store in Chicago, and his poetry and fiction have appeared in Cynthia Pelayo’s Gothic Blue Book Series, The Night’s End Horror Podcast, and The Best of Abyss & Apex Vol. 4, to name a few. His debut horror novella, “SLOE,” was released in August 2023 by Unnerving Books. A second horror novella, Pieties, was released by Off Limits Press in April 2024.
This is just one of the many exciting announcements we have coming up very soon for our 2025 schedule…check back soon for further details!
For our final segment of this edition, we thought we’d do something a little fun. A few of you have probably been wondering who the brains (and beauties) of Slashic Horror Press are. What? You haven’t? Okay, well, we’re gonna tell you anyways!
David-Jack Fletcher and Leeroy Cross James are the co-founders of Slashic Horror Press, and they are also life-long besties that live on opposite sides of the world from each other. While David-Jack lives down under, Leeroy (you can call him Lee) is a Scouse princess residing in Liverpool.
So, for this month, here are some questions Lee asked David-Jack:
L: Tell me a fun fact about yourself
DJ: I’m not sure if it’s fun, but I have two webbed toes on each foot. It’s not as gross as it sounds, and unfortunately they don’t make me a strong swimmer 😂
L: I completely forgot about that! I remember seeing them now, they weren't gross at all. Which horror characters do you relate to?
DJ: I feel like I’m never the hero, but the one who has good intentions. Maybe the hero’s best friend who ultimately meets a grim fate.
L: What was your favourite thing about Liverpool?
DJ: Probably the food!! There are soooo many awesome places to eat, and you and I definitely did a lot of that 😂😂
L: I’ll have to take you to Casa Italia next time you come here, you’ll love it. Which book do you wish you had written?
DJ: That’s a tough one. I don’t think I have an answer to that, really. I’m inspired a lot by Clive Barker, so perhaps Books of Blood.
L: Honestly, same. But I think that’s standard as Clive is also a fellow scouser! Favourite thing about being a publisher?
DJ: Helping other authors get their work into the world. It’s a special feeling having someone trust you with something so precious and personal. If I can do a great job helping people publish their books, that’s enough for me!
Check back next time to learn more about Lee!
